Hi,

We love your watches. I gave my entire crew one of your watches last xmas and the real test of their durability is how long it would last with Mad Mike, our leadman. Mike got 6 months out of it before he tore the band pin out of it (for a guy who can tear up an anvil, this says a lot about your watch!). Is that something we can buy? I'd like to get a couple of them. congratulations on a great product.

Rolex versus Guarddog Watch and Clock - You Decide?

Real mail from real guys. This stuff makes our day.

Hi Ownerguys:

I bought a Guarddog II and love it.

I have worn a Rolex for about twenty years. It had never been cleaned or serviced in that time. I will be in Panama for a few weeks this summer and thought it would be a good time to send the Rolex in. Not wanting to be without a timepiece, the Guarddog II seemed the perfect watch for such hot and humid climes.

After wearing the Guarddog on my belt for a few weeks, I am not sure the Rolex will go back on my wrist when it returns.

While Mike wouldn't let us use his picture, (I think he was afraid of our Photoshop skills) he did have some great things to say about the watch. After asking (a.k.a. bribing him with one size XL workin' dog t-shirt, he let us publish his e-mail to his buddy Mark W. Enjoy.

GuardDog Watches Welcomes Gemplers and Lab Safety!

GuardDog is pleased to announce Gempler's to our growing list of distributors. Gempler's is a division of Lab Safety Supply, and is a premier supplier of hand-picked "commercial-grade" products shipped direct to your dock or doorstep.

(From their website)

Over the years GEMPLER'S has developed a skill for selecting the right products and services for people working outside. In recent years we have expanded into pest management, and shop and supplies, and crop, turf, and nursery production. In these new areas our approach has been the same; sort through all the available products and hand pick the right ones to save our customers time. We now offer over 17,000 different items which are all available in our full line Master catalog and this website.

Over the years we've had the pleasure to get to know some of the staff who work for Gempler's. We find them to be among the nicest and most innovative people we've ever worked with. We at GuardDog feel extremely proud to have passed Gempler's rigorous supplier certification process and hope that you'll shop for GuardDog Watches as well as some of the other fine products they offer.

Mahalo

Christina T. from ( Waimea ), Hawaii writes:
GuardDog guys -- I received a wonderful GuardDog watch from a friend (James Brown...really - that's his name). I have been wearing and using it every day since then. The watch is a delight to use, and JB was so proud to present it to me. I like wearing the watch to work because it is tough and I don't have to worry about scratching it as I've done all my other watches. Its' face is easy to read at a quick glance both at work and when I am riding. Thanks for putting out a great product!!

Guest Lecture at St. Scholastica -Duluth, MN

Whatta Dog!

If you are reading this, there's a good chance you and I will meet on Monday morning. I hope you'll be awake!

In very dog-like fashion I e-mailed a very old and dear friend today who I hadn't spoken with in (gulp) 4 years. Some friend I am, huh. In the process of seeing if she'd like to have a cup of coffee, she asked if I'd come speak to her advertising class. I said sure, why not.

What am I going to talk about? Well, for the past 18 months me and my business partner Eric have been chasing after a dream. We chucked our corporate jobs and the paychecks that went with them to work out of our guest rooms and try to convince hardware and industrial tool stores they ought to be selling watches.

It's a bit of a work in progress, but on the cusp of two years into this experiment, we're basically on-track based upon our original business plan. You'll be happy to know that I do in fact use quite a few of the skills I developed in college and a whole bunch of stuff that I gleaned from the corporate world.

I hope you find it useful and I hope you have a lot of questions. Oh, and if you know anybody who wants to buy a watch or two, have 'em drop me an e-mail by clicking here.

A Dog's Gotta Have Friends

Hi gang.

It's been a week of glorious summer days in GuardDog-land. Eric and crew are headed to Michigan for a famility vacation and I am officially holding down the fort. Since it's Friday and the work week in winding down I thought I would pass out a few atta-boys for the following folks:

1.) Penn Cycle

Penn is one of the Twin Cities metro's best bike dealers. Minneapolis is a bike-crazy city and if you need anything from bikes to helmuts and other gear - Penn Cycle is the place.

2.) Woodcraft Supply

Woodcraft is one of the newest GuardDog costumers. Seventy-five stores strong + catalog and web. They specialize in Woodworking tools and accessories. They are a first-class outfit and we appreciate the business.

3.) Stick and Ball Guy

I'll admit to being a bit of a baseball freak. Many a night when the wife and child retire to read stories (When I am not in the rotation, that is) I can be found working at the PC, the crackling din of the AM Radio in the background with Herb, John and the Dazzle-Man, Dan Gladden doing play-by-play of the beloved squad from Minnesota. Part of the fun in recent years has been to also follow the team by reading the so-called baseball bloggers, who augmnent the local Strib and Pioneer Press coverage with a range of articles both SABERMETRIC in nature as well as straightforward commentary.

While Twins Geek and AaronGleemen.com are the Godfathers, there a a few notable newcomers. I've worked Stick and Ball Guy into the regular reading rotation. He's a good baseball mind and lately he's been trying to re-position himself and develop his own niche among the bloggers. One thing we do find humorous is his ongoing, what seems to be, a one-sided fued with novelist, Anne Ursu, a.k.a. Bat-Girl, the Twinsblogger most beloved by the media. We can't really side with SBG on this one - but we will keep reading, nonetheless. We love the diversity of opinions.

4.) Foss Swim School

Simply amazing. While we have spent plenty of time in and around the water, we had not done any formal swimming lessons. In less than two weeks the kid was swimming underwater retrieving rings, flipping back to front and otherwise getting it done. Very impressive. We've re-upped for another two weeks.

Anyway. Thanks again for checking back. Talk with you soon.
