Karmikey is a Guarddog Lover!
Mike Butcher is a hardcore, workin' guy type from California. He recieved a Guarddog watch from a good friend of GuardDog - Mark W. also of California. While Mike wouldn't let us use his picture, (I think he was afraid of our Photoshop skills) he did have some great things to say about the watch. After asking (a.k.a. bribing him with one size XL workin' dog t-shirt, he let us publish his e-mail to his buddy Mark W. Enjoy.
Hey Mark ! The watch is doing great ! Doing the kind of mechanical work and maintenance duties that I do, I usually have some not-often-used tool like crow's-foot wrenches or pelican wrenches and strange taps and dies and the like in my toolbox at work and just about everyone knows that I have the weird stuff and they weren't too surprised to see that I had this weird watch-thing on my belt but they were surprised to see this watch-thing the likes of which they hadn't seen before. Of course, lots of "oohs" and "Wow"s from all the set-up guys and other mechanics and the tool-room guys thought that it's really cool and asked a lot of questions. I explained the story of Guarddog and referred them to the web site. I like it because it's a quality piece of work, hasn't lost a minute, it's light, it looks rugged and industrial, and is perfect for a worker's belt because of the slim design. The material used for the watch housing itself is very good because the exterior (where the logo is) has a few "scuffs" from scraping and, literally, banging into some things (I gotta lose weight) but nothing that can't be polished away because they aren't bad enough or deep enough to be called "scratches". ("Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin' ") It's a nice addition to the other stuff on my belt (mini-mag lite, knife, 4-inch key ring on a belt hook and the cell phone) and it is surviving "Baptism By Fire" well because I use the devil out of it in a "real work" industrial atmosphere. So, yeah, it's been surviving fine and I'll get it back to you when the battery runs out (arr-arr). Kidding . . . I'll get it back to you when I see you for the Christmas Holidays. Hope you're all doing well for the weekend with good weather in case you go bike riding. More later ! Grins . . . . Mikey .
